CashCrate: One Dangerous Company
Paid Opportunities is a site designed with YOU in mind. This site offers hundreds of ways to make money online with no investment. But from time to time I like to expose the truth about companies on the internet that offer bogus money making opportunities, are complete scams or just a waste of time in general. All of my information is 100% factual and can be easily referanced. Hope you find this information useful!

CashCrate is one of the most referred ways to make money online. However, I am here to tell you NOT to join this program! Yes, you really can earn money from this source but it is so risky and completely time consuming. In the end you will end up with way more problems than profit. CashCrate is a bad opportunity in general. People refer others to this service for one of two reasons –
1. They have no idea how to really make money online. There’s nothing wrong with not knowing how to generate income without an investment. Trust me, a little over a year ago I was doing the exact same thing! I was desperate to earn online and sites like these “seemed” like a great idea.
OR
2. They want the referral money. People who join CashCrate are given a bounty in the form of a commission for each member they refer. Plus CC offers prizes and stuff every month. Signing up for something using someone’s referral link isn’t always bad, I mean, after all, somebody SHOULD be given a small reward for referring people to a company. However, 70% of the time people online will tell you anything you want to hear just so you sign up through them, even if the opportunity is totally bogus.
With that being said, for the sake of argument, I decided to create my own Cashcrate account. This is my experience and it will be yours too:
7:30am – Join
7:32am – I have now officially entered the site. I am “immediately able to being earning money” by completing offers – my number #1 nemesis! I have a HUGE problem with “completing offers for cash” because it’s such an awful way to earn money online and I’ll explain exactly why later. But, to continue my company review, I look at the list of available offers and they’re payout rate (generally between $2.50 and $12). I decided to aim really low and see how difficult it is to earn myself $2.50. I see an offer called “Healthy Pregnancy Tips”. It says all I have to do to earn my $2.50 is sign up for a FREE trial membership and confirm my “PIN”. Sounds easy, right? I am immediately transferred to THIS SITE which asks me to enter my cell phone number and agree to “Terms of Service”!!!!
When I select the “Terms of Service” link to get more information I read the following “When you sign up for the Service, you will receive a free three-day trial. If you cancel within three days, you will not be charged for the service. If you do not cancel within three days $4.99 per month for the Service will be billed directly to your cellular phone bill.” Well I feel slightly mislead here! Nobody ever said anything about giving out my cell number! To me, that info is really personal!
7:37am – I am now attempting to try a different offer. Maybe I won’t have to give away such personal information to make $2 this time. I look back over the list and see an offer worth a whopping $12.50! Supposedly all I have to do to get this money is “Sign up for a FREE Trial at Pricestore”. After selecting this link I am brought to a much more reputable site. This one looks like it may actually be promising. It says that I have to sign up for a free 7 day trial and I will be given a $50 Red Lobster Gift Card too. As always, I immediately read the “Terms of Service”. This is what I read:
1. We Download Files onto Your Hard Drive. “Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computers hard drive through your Web browser.”
2. We Log Files. “Pricestore.com automatically receives and records information on its server logs from your Web browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you requested.”
3. We SHARE Information. “We might receive information about you from other sources and add it to our account information.”
And the list goes on and on. Now is this REALLY worth $12.50 and a Red Lobster Gift Card? Not one bit!
So now it is 7:44am and I still have yet to complete an offer so I still have not earned a single penny BUT I have managed to spend almost 15 minutes accomplishing absolutely nothing. What a complete and total waste of my time! I could have spent the past 15 minutes making $10+ by
Writing an article for Associated Content, Constant Content or W4C ,
Submitting Photography to one of my sources,
Writing an advertisement,
or any other LEGIT way of actually making money online.
But let’s say your heart is completely set on giving CashCrate a try and you don’t mind allowing them to download cookies onto your hard drive, signing up for companies that will bill you in a few days if you forget to cancel your membership or giving out your personal information to all kinds of companies for a few dollars. If that sounds like a great opportunity for you then I’ll tell you what you need to do to actually make money from this.
First, you need to get a calendar and a pen. If you don’t have these items then just please skip this “opportunity” completely because you’ll find yourself owing tons of money for “free trails”. Now that you have your supplies, go ahead and sign up for all this stuff. It’s going to take a while to complete each offer because you have to verify your “free memberships” via email and so on. Before you officially complete any offer you MUST (must, must, MUST!) read ALL of the “Terms of Service/FAQ’s. This will tell you when you HAVE to cancel your membership by before you get slapped with a bill or sent products. *In addition, you need to understand that you CAN NOT just sign up for something then turn around and cancel it. You have to be a “free trail member” for X amount of days before you can even receive your “earnings” from CashCrate.
After you complete each *free offer, make note on your calendar of the exact day your “free” membership will expire. Include any password information or confirmation numbers that you will need to terminate your “free service”.
Now all you have to do is look at your calendar daily and cancel memberships when needed. You will have a 90% success rate if you do this – PROVIDING you didn’t accidentally forget to write down an offer or PROVIDING you NEVER FORGET to check your calendar. On occasion some companies will try to make it near impossible for you to quit your “Free” subscription. I ran into this problem once with a “Free Trial Membership” to a major online music download service. I tried to cancel on day #6 of my 7 day trial. I kept getting a computerized message saying that I needed to call their headquarters. Then, when I did make my call to the NOT TOLL FREE NUMBER I was directed to a pre-recorded message that explained that “call volumes were too high. Try back tomorrow”. This went on for several days. In the end I got stuck paying a $14.99 fee for a month of service that I really didn’t even want. Totally NOT worth the $8 I was given to get my “free trial”.
In the end, I will tell you that this is the furthest thing from a REAL way to make money online. You will end up spending so much time and effort to make a few dollars that you will become very aggravated. You will have millions of cookies downloaded onto your computer, some of which may even cause internal damage and give you computer errors, such as your system may begin to run slow. Plus your email will be bombarded with spam daily and you may even receive phone calls or text messages from solicitors you never even heard of. I completely DO NOT suggest signing up for this company. If you are truly looking for ways to make fast money online then please read all of my article on this site (don't forget to browse throught the Archives section!)
More about Cashcrate:
When reading “Terms of Service” or “FAQ” pages, there’s always a few things that I call “Red Flags”. Whenever I see a Red Flag I generally consider the company to be somewhat of a scam and I run in the opposite direction. There’s tons of companies that will pay you for legit “work” online, why mess around with this kind of garbage:
*Excerpts taken directly from Cash Crates Terms page!
1. “Members may complete offers provided by third-party advertisers ("Third-Parties") in return for monetary compensation provided by CashCrate. These terms are subject to change by CashCrate at anytime without notice.”
2.“you must be aware that some third-party advertisers may require payment of some variety in order to complete their offer. Members will be solely responsible for any charges incurred by participation Third-Party programs.”
3. “CashCrate makes no guarentee regarding the timeliness of payments” (*Please not the improper spelling of "guarantee" - this is THEIR ERROR in their own contract, not mine!)
4. “if for any reason, an advertiser does not pay CashCrate, CashCrate reserves the right to withhold the Members share of said revenue.”
5. “CashCrate will not be liable for lost profits or any other indirect, special, punitive, incidental or consequential damages arising out of or related to this Agreement or the CashCrate program, even if CashCrate has been advised of the possibility of such damages.”
6. “CashCrate will at no time have any commitment toward any member, past or present. CashCrate may at anytime, for any reason, without or without notice, discontinue the Program for one or all of its members.”
Now ask yourself, “Does this sound like an employer I want to work for?” – I didn’t think so!

Write Greeting Cards for CASH!
Looking for a unique way to make some money?
Are you creative?
Love poetry?
If so then have you ever thought about writing greeting cards?
Being a greeting card writer can be very fun and rewarding. Not only do you get the opportunity to have people worldwide view your work but you also get paid to do it!
Most major companies, such as Hallmark have a huge bankroll and hire in-house employees their own card writers. These people work full time to produce al those cute (and expensive) greeting cards that you see at your local retail store. However, smaller companies don’t have that kind of budget so they do the second best thing – hire it out to people like you and I!
So the killer question is – “How much do these people pay?”
I have discovered that most companies pay about $50 - $400 per original card! WOW! You do the math here – if you create 3 cards every week and make $400 every card…
So as you can see, this really is an awesome paid opportunity!
I bet you want to know more, don’t you? Ok, here’s all the details –
Just about anyone can become a greeting card writer. Becoming a greeting card writer is super easy – especially since I am going to PROVIDE YOU WITH ALL THE LINKS!!!
But before you start making up “cards” lets discuss a few important details of what you should and shouldn’t submit.
*These are generalizations!
What You SHOULD Submit:
Contemporary prose or poetry written from personal experience that reflects the thoughts and feelings people today want to communicate to one another, but don't always know how to put into words.
Greeting cards capture genuine emotions on topics such as love, friendship, family, missing you, and other real-life subjects, most companies suggest that you have a friend, relative, or someone else in your life in mind as you write.
Writings on special occasions (birthday, anniversary, congratulations, etc.), as well as the challenges, difficulties, and aspirations of life are also considered. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with each individual companies products prior to submitting material, but don't study them too hard because they’re only looking for new, original, and creative writings, not copy-cat cards.
What You SHOULDN’T Submit:
Rhymed poetry, religious verse, one-liners, or humor. *Unless specifically requested, of course!
Try to avoid frequently overused words and phrases, such as "special," "gift," "sending you a hug," "birthday wishes for you," and "angel”.
Your chances of getting published will drastically decrease if you submit work directly related to mothers, sons, daughters, and love. For these themes, most companies will only consider writings that are refreshing and unique or that express age-old sentiments in new and different ways. (Hint: Avoid lines like "You were always there for me," "I remember when you were a baby," "I am so proud of you," or "You are my dream come true.")
What to Expect:
After you have written your card you will be asked to submit it via email. Occasionally some publishers ask for all submission to be sent US Mail (aka “Snail Mail”).
Plan on waiting several days to several weeks for a response. Some companies even ask for a SASE so they can return unwanted materials to you. Just be sure to read ALL the guidelines or else you will be wasting your time!
Know ahead of time that you will be selling full rights to your work, so don’t even consider trying to double dip by reusing the phrases for another company or anywhere else for that matter. If you try to be sneaky you can end up paying some serious fines or even getting jail time. Copyright infringement is a crime that publishers don’t take lightly, even the small publishers. So play it honest and you’ll make lots of money!
COMSTOCK CARDS - Looking for artists as well as writers. $50+ per accepted piece
Ephemera - $50 plus per each original slogan purchased
Blue Mountain Cards - $300 for each accepted submission.
PSG - Artists and Writer needed. Compensation is determined by each submission. Payments will vary.
Recycled Paper Greetings - Writers and Artists wanted. Payment varies.
Renaissance Greeting Cards - Writers and Artists. Payment varies.
*Do you have a particular company in mind that you want to write for? Just because it’s not on my list doesn’t mean they’re not looking for writers! Always check the FAQ section of sites or read the “Guidelines”, most often, if they do hire out their work they will have how to submit listed there!

Click submit and you are almost done. We would like you to tag your comment. See Below to learn more about our tagging system.
What is Tagging?
Tagging is a way of using a keyword or descriptive term to categorize discussions. Tags are chosen informally and personally by the discussion starter, responder, commentator, or any person interested in the discussion topic. A discussion should have one or more "tags" associated with it to help organize the discussion as part of our automated classification system. myLot will provide links to other items that share keyword tags and enable users to select tags that interest them to be displayed on their homepage. Tagging allows for a way to categorize discussions on myLot for easy navigation.
How do I Tag?
Glad you asked. We would love for all myLot members to get in the habit of tagging their discussions. Tagging is simple and myLot gives you several ways to tag:
Once you click the submit button after starting a discussion, posting a response or adding a comment, you will be taken to a page where myLot will ask you to “Add tags to this discussion”. Here you need to input keywords that are associated with your discussion.
You also have the ability to tag others discussions. When you are signed in, you will notice at the bottom of each discussion page there is a “Tag this discussion” box. Simply read through the discussion and submit keywords associated with the theme of the discussion.
What is a Best Response?
Best Response is a response that is chosen by the myLot member that started the discussion and feels the response they chose is the best response to their topic of discussion.
How do I Choose a Best Response?
To Select a Best Response, Go to “My Discussions” and in the “Best Response” box, select which response number you like the best.
Don’t select a Best Response right away, wait a few days. This will give myLot users time to respond to your discussion topic and in return will give you a variety of responses to choose from.
A Best Response should be utilized by all myLot members. Please help other myLot users know that their responses are useful and helpful!
What is the Discussion Rating System?
The Discussion Rating System (DRS) allows users to rate the usefulness of topics, responses and comments on myLot. The goal of the DRS is to help keep the quality of myLot discussions as high as possible for all members. myLot members should rate discussions, responses, and comments based upon quality and usefulness. We are very excited about the DRS and encourage everyone to use it. The DRS is factored into our proprietary earnings algorithm, so this will help us properly reward valuable contributions to the myLot community.
How do I use the DRS?
The DRS is very straight-forward and easy to use:
Read the topic, response, or comment.
If you find the topic, responses, or comment useful, then positively rate that action by clicking on the plus sign (+) next to it.
If you find the topic, response, or comment not useful and feel it negatively impacts the myLot community, then negatively rate that action by clicking on the minus sign (-) next to it.
If you have no strong opinions either way, you should not rate the topic, response, or comment. You should never the need to rate every action. Many actions are indeed “neutral” and should not be rated at all.
If you feel the topic, response, or comment violates the myLot community guidelines, then click on the explanation point (!) next to it, and report the abuse to the myLot staff.
What if I disagree with someone? Should I give that response or comment a negative rating?
Absolutely not! In fact, if you disagree with a response or comment, but still feel it positively contributes to the discussion, you should rate it positively. Differing opinions and viewpoints tend to make for the most interesting discussions.
Will I be able to see what ratings have been given to my individual topics, responses, and comments?
No, this information will not be displayed. We feel this is necessary to maintain the objectiveness of the DRS. We have no plans to make this information available in the future. However…We plan to use this information in the aggregate to implement a new User Rating System in the near future. Stay tuned!
Is there a way for someone to game the DRS and artificially inflate/deflate action quality?
The DRS algorithm is very complex and will detect many forms of inappropriate ratings. The integrity of the DRS is the top priority of the DRS team at myLot. In addition to the many automatic safeguards that are already in place, we are closely monitoring DRS activity to identify and prevent inappropriate ratings.
What’s the best way to get positive ratings for my actions?
Post quality topics, responses and comments! Some pointers include
When giving advice or answering questions, research yourconclusions and provide links to authoritative guidance.
Convey original ideas or thoughts. Don’t repeat what somebody else has already said.
Be considerate of other users in a discussion.

The 3 WORST Online Money Making Opportunities
PLEASE PEOPLE! STOP PAYING TO WORK!
Why are people STILL throwing money away by buying memberships to various work-at-home websites, paying for publications, DVD’s or e-books on the topic? All of this information is FREE. Yes, 100% FREE – that means you NEVER have to spend a penny to make a penny!
Companies that require a sign up fee are complete garbage! If you take the time to read the “fine print” you will see that they can not promise you a single thing. BUT, the good news is that YOU can make hundreds of dollars every single week without buying anything and I will tell you how.
Common Mistakes:
Remember, as I have said a million times before, “Time equals money”. Take this concept very seriously or else working online will turn into a complete disaster and you will end up spending hundreds of hours making a few dollars.
Things NOT to do:
1. Don’t mess around with Paid-to-Read Email programs. Yes, you CAN make money. Yes, they WILL pay you (most of them anyways), but it is a total waste of your time and effort. The majority of paid to read email companies will give you a whopping .02 cents per email. This means you have to “read” 50 of them to make a buck. So if you would like to make $20 so you can put some gas in your car, you have to “read” 1,000 emails – come on! Not at all realistic.
But what really goes into “reading” an email for money? More than you would think! Once again, most people fail to read the “fine print” before they sing up for something. Many companies require that you click the advertisement link on the email, visit the website or do some other complete waste-of-time activity before you get your measly 2 pennies for it. So skip this concept completely. I have reviewed over 25 different paid to read email programs and have yet to find one that’s actually worth the time, but, as always, if I find one, you’ll be the first to know about it.
2. Paid-to-Surf Programs are a rip off. I’m sure you have heard of companies that will pay you to surf the net. This is about the same concept as the paid-to-read emails. Paid to surf programs are trash for numerous reasons. First, you make between .30 - .80 an HOUR. Using the same scenario as we did for the paid to read emails, this means that you have to “surf” for at least 25 hours to get $20.00. But wait, here’s the kicker – setting aside the fact that these companies download all kinds of cookies onto your C drive, they also have requirements. Some companies ask that you click an advertisement every so many minutes. Who has time to do that? Other companies only pay you to “surf” the sites affiliated with their company. They tell you that you will know what sites are affiliated with their company because there will be a symbol on it. What the hell? You’re supposed to spend time searching for sites with a symbol?! Anyways, this entire concept is a waste of your time. Once again, if I find a real, quality program that pays well I will recommend it.
3. Paid-to-Click Programs. These are terrible. Do you know why you are paid to click links? Because the websites make money off clicks. Just like on my websites, if someone decides to click an ad I get a small percentage, usually somewhere around .10 cents per click. This is a great concept for me because I own the website but not for you who is looking to make money. There’s a million requirements that go into paid-to-click programs. You can’t just hurry up and click a whole bunch of links and make a buck. You have to click a link then stay on the new web page for 30 seconds or more, then you’ll make your .05 cents or whatever the payout is. Also you can’t click the same link more than once every hour or 24-hours or whatever the regulation is. This is so advertisers don’t get suspicious and realize that click fraud is taking place in most cases. However, some advertisers join these programs hoping that you will be stuck on their page for 30 seconds and decide to buy the product that they are selling. Either way, if you follow the rules you can make about .60 cents an hour. It will take you damn near 34 hours to make $20.00. Not worth it.
Instead of spending hours making pennies, spend hours making dollars. You really can make $200, $500, $700+ every week online if you spend your time wisely. Being a BETA tester is super cool, often profitable and gets you loads of free computer programs that you probably otherwise could not afford.
So what is BETA Testing? BETA Testing is what technology companies do prior to releasing a new product. Basically, they hire people who have no affiliation with their company, send them free copies of the programs and ask for their opinions. In return they usually give out cash incentives, gift cards, visa check cards and additional softwear.
All you need to qualify is knowlege of the programs you wich to test. For example, i test new photo editing softwear all the time because I love to take digital pictures. I have made over $500 in the past three months plus gotten tons of freebies just for doing exactly what I already do - take photographs!
BETA Testing is not only for people who liek digital cameras but also for people who do any kind of computer work - PC or Mac.
Many websites will ask for a monthly fee to test their products - it's totally not worth it! Instead sign up with great, reliable, FREE companies. Here's a list of my favorites:
HP - Being a BETA Tester for HP is awesome. Not only will you get computer programs and stuff like that but you can also get free printers, paper, mouses, and other awesome computer goods. http://www.hpproducttest.com/index.cfm
VOC Online - Another cool place to test techinical stuff. This is a copany that I have done quite a bit of work for. They have a lot of "advanced" programs that can be tested - stuff I have never even heard of!

*Remember, BETA Testing is just a way to get some excellent freebies and make a few bucks. Don't expect to get rich off this program. The average test will pay about $100 for 6 - 8 weeks of "testing". However, the products you get, if you decide not to keep them, you can usually sell on Ebay for a lot of cash since they are brand new.
*BETA Testing is not a full time position. Don't get discouraged if you only get offered one or two "tests" per year.
*It's very important to be honest when filling out your BETA applications. If you don't have experience with a Mac, don't offer to test Mac products, you know?
PAID TO CHAT 2
Mylot.com
Pay Rate: Approx .02 cents per posting, give or take, depending if you upload a photograph with every posting and reply
Pay Out Amount: $10.00
Mylot is a pretty good place to get paid to chat. The users are incredibly friendly and the site is easy to understand and even easier to navigate. You’re also given your own private message box, friends list and more.
Become a Mylot member click here
Although I said previously that this is only a good program if you plac to chat online anyways, there's lots of benefits to joining one and sticking to it. I will discuss the perks further in my next article. So choose a paid-to-chat program and begin getting aquainted with it
Paid to Chat 1
Cashposting.com
Pay Rate: .03 cents per post plus .01 cents per referral
Pay Out Mark: $15
Cashposting.com has a relatively descent paid-to-post program. Unlike other sites, they pay about .03 cents per posting and you can cash out as soon as you hit $15. This means that for every 500 posts you’ll hit your payout. Cashing out isn’t hard and thousands of people have already been paid. Once you have $15, to receive the payout you must PM the Admin on the 29th, 30th or the 31st with your pay pal address. Payments are only made via pay pal.
If you decide to become a Cashposting member you can get paid for up to 30 posts each day. The only real requirement is that each post is legitimate (no spamming) and it has to be 136 characters or more. This prevents people from “typing just to type”.
They are also implementing a program through which users get paid to play video games.

The place to see the legitimate money making sites . im posting my reviews on the sites from which i get paid . so i hope you all enjoy too.
here are few.
PAID TO CHAT
As I have mentioned before, getting paid to chat is not necessarily a profitable opportunity by any means. At the pay rate of about .02 cents per posting, it would take endless hours of typing to even earn $20. However, for most people it is a great idea to join a paid to chat program, and I’ll tell you why.
First, if you are going to chat anyways, you might as well get paid for it. However, not everybody chats online. I personally write articles for cash and work on my website which features detailed reviews on work at home opportunities.
For me, as a webmaster, having a place that I can get paid to promote my site and my articles is awesome. I am able to meet new people who are actively searching the internet for my content but have not yet found what they have been looking for. I used paid to chat forums to connect these users with my publications. It’s a great way to advertise totally free of charge while helping people.
Anybody can use this concept too. Whether you sell real estate, make gift baskets or are a humble poet simply seeking feedback on your work you can use paid to chat forums to promote yourself.
But before you start joining forums and posting links all over the place there’s a few things you really need to know.
1. Read the Forum Guidelines. Some forums don’t allow referral links and so on. There’s ways around this, but it’s best to stick to the guidelines or else you’ll end up making more people hate you than like you.
2. Only Post Where Applicable. If the thread you’re reading is about the best places to vacation, it is completely inappropriate to post anything about your clothing business.
3. Don’t SPAM! There’s a huge difference between offering your services and spamming message boards. SPAM is annoying and really ruins the quality of sites. An example of Spam would be to say, “For a great deal on a new home call 555-1454. Ruth Realty.” Instead, find a forum or a thread where people are discussing purchasing a new home or finding a great real estate agent. Then explain who you are, tell a little about yourself and leave a link so people can view your website or email you if they are interested in your services.
4. No Repeat Postings. Post your message once per thread. Nobody likes repeat posters. In addition, if you find multiple threads that would be great to self promote on, please change your wording. Nobody likes thinking they are reading an advertisement.
5. Always Follow Up. Forums are not for “dumping”. Dumping is when you leave a reply or start a post then never return to it to answer questions or thank visitors for their comments. Be sure to take time every single day to reply to anybody who leaves feedback, even if your response is as simple as, “Thanks for taking the time to read this!”. A little kindness goes a loooong way!
6. Take Time Out to Comment. Don’t be a selfish self-promoter 24/7. Take time every day you post to comment on other non-work-related posts. You’ll make lots of friends and possibly even find excellent networking opportunities!
